This will give you a small insight of who I am and what I want to be.
“We want to open up space for humanity; in order to do that, space must be affordable." - Elon Musk. My curiosity about space technology builds over time as I gain more insight and learn about the forces of engineering that go behind creating this technology. I have always been fascinated with space. Every time I read articles or books about space, time passes like a rocket. My imagination flows wild beyond today’s engineering capabilities, and my goal is to make my imaginations come to life.
As a little kid, I was told that humans could never be a multi-planetary species, but I strongly believe that in my lifetime our species will be living on Mars. With all my engineering skills, motivation, and capabilities, I truly believe I will be able to contribute and be a part of the team that makes taking life beyond our own planet possible. I am captivated by the fact of how much there really is to explore; we as a human species haven’t really gone far from our own planet given the massive array and gigantic scale of the universe. There are multiple reasons that hinder our capability to explore space, the one major one being affordability; we all know the fact that it is super expensive to do frequent space exploration, but companies like SpaceX are stepping up, building reusable rocket launchers and spaceships to come around this massive hurdle.
As an engineer, I see obstacles in a different way than other people. Technological advancement and engineering capabilities are now making it possible for frequent space exploration. Last year alone SpaceX launched more than a hundred rockets in space; countries are now sending rovers, hovers, and robots to explore Mars, searching for life or a place where life can be sustained. Now with the advancement in engineering, we do not have to risk people’s lives by sending them out to explore other planets in space. The massive scale of advancement in engineering and technology now makes it very efficient and risk-averse to send robots to do exploration for us before we step in. I believe that my expertise will be used to make this process more efficient.
My interest and knowledge about space technology are fueled by my motivation and my intense desire to make a significant contribution to humanity. When I want to learn more about space and space technology, I read articles, grab books on the topic, participate in seminars and webinars, and discuss the topic with like-minded people to make sure that I am up-to-date with all the recent happenings about space. There are many sub-areas that need advancements to make multiplanetary species possible, and engineers like me make this advancement by putting in hours of expertise and hard work. I am still in the learning phase, putting in lots of hours to get a total understanding of how things are put together to make these incredible fleets possible. My motivation and desire are to be a major contributor to space technology and lead the forefront of our space technologies.
